A brief opinion question

Would you rather work with a solvent that gives you headaches when you accidentally breathe it, or one that's a known carcinogen? Assume both evaporate quite quickly, but also that you have gloves, a hood, and a labcoat at your disposal.

That's my choice for the day!

I'd go for the headaches. I'd know fairly right away when the hood isn't working or the gloves are bad and I could do something about it.

Moreover, you may be ambivalent now, but you owe something to the Gen of the future, whose views about cancer risks might be different than they are now.
